We worked with 58 musicians, 22 composers, 11 visual artists, 7 off-stage creative practitioners
We programmed 13 first performances

Folkestone New Music is an oasis of musical wonderment… A place to experience new and unique thought-forms - in the shape of up-close, refreshing, and mind-provoking live concerts - performed by the best new music proponents of our time. Encounters of this kind are becoming more and more rare in the UK. In addition to exceptional, refined music making, there are plentiful opportunities to hear experimental sessions, new collaborations, and works in progress. Artist talks and discussions reveal some of the fascinating and hidden aspects of the creative process.
