There’s been revolution in our musical taste and our understanding of the past in recent decades. Music from distant centuries is now as accessible to us as the music of today or yesterday. How did this shift come about, and who were the pioneers in changing our taste?

FIZZLES are haunted, haunting soliloquies by the great Irish playwright Samuel Beckett- tales heard in the dark, spoken by disembodied voices.
‘Old earth, no more lies, I’ve seen you, it was me, with my other’s ravening eyes, too late. You’ll be on me, it will be you, it will be me, it will be us, it was never us.’
In this performance they will be interspersed with music for piano (played by Linda Nicholson), ghosts of songs by Schubert, Beckett’s favourite composer.
Polly Pleasance (actor), Linda Nicholson (piano), Di Trevis (director)
